Bit Reactor Reinstates Furloughed Workers

Bit Reactor has begun bringing back furloughed employees following the successful launch of Zero Company.

Bit Reactor, the developer behind the tactical RPG "Star Wars: Zero Company," has announced that it is starting to bring back some of its previously furloughed employees. This decision comes in light of the game's successful sales, which reportedly exceeded one million copies shortly after its launch on August 27. Prior to the launch, Bit Reactor had furloughed a significant portion of its workforce—up to 80%—due to uncertainties surrounding the game's performance. Only a small team remained to address post-launch bugs and issues. CEO Greg Foertsch described the decision to furlough staff as incredibly difficult, stating it was necessary due to unexpected business developments outside of their control. As of now, more than half of the pre-furlough team has returned to the payroll, although some employees remain furloughed without pay. This situation highlights the volatile nature of the gaming industry, where market conditions can lead to rapid changes in workforce dynamics.
